Bangles

During our lunch with a farm family in Dundlod, these women crouched down next to the charpoys (rope beds) upon which we were sitting to talk with us. They were wearing brightly colored saris and lots of bangles. Bangles are a very significant ornament for women as they are a visible sign of marriage, so much so that the first act of a widow is to remove them.
