.Keoladeo Ghana Bird Sanctuary is located near the town of Bharatpur 34 miles south of Agra. It is considered one of the world's most important bird sanctuaries. A number of different storks and cranes winter there, the most famous is the rare Siberian crane standing up to 4 1/2 feet tall. In addition to the cranes, other species found at Keoladeo are storks, spoonbills, herons, egrets. kingfisher, eagles, geese, ducks and more.

.We took a short tour at dusk and a few members of our group returned again the following morning. During our short visit we were able to view the shallow wet lands and a see number of birds. There is no doubt that this park requires more time to explore than we had. Several photographers with long telephoto lenses were returning from the days shooting when we entered the park. Be sure to take a telephoto lens if you are interested in bird photography.
