Dundlod Fort

.

.Dundlod is a small village located about 140 miles west of Delhi in a semi-arid region of Rajasthan. Dundlod fort was built in 1750 by Keshri Singh. After the fort was established, fighting broke out with other kingdoms and the land was lost. In the 1800's Sheo Singh took back his ancestor's land, settled in Dundlod, and enlarged the fort. Most of the buildings date from 1840. The fort has a well preserved hall of audience and traces of painted murals in some of the rooms.
.We spent two days at the fort which has been converted into a hotel. During that time, we visited Indo International School and two low income families where we met with the women.
