.Sati Hands indicate queens who have performed sati by immolating themselves on their husband's funeral pyre.

.Sati was the ritual of wives allowing themselves to be burnt alive on their husband's funeral pyre. This act allowed the wife to prove her eternal devotion to her dead husband and to avoid the cruel life faced by a widow, who was considered to be a curse and thus was banished from any contact with the family.
