A CAMEL RIDE

.Camel Safaris are all the rage in Rajasthan. We did not go on a true safari, but rather we took a short ride into the dunes to watch the sunset. We thoroughly enjoyed the adventure and highly recommend it.

.If you are interested in a safari extending over several days, be sure and do your homework before you arrive in India. Camel Safaris range from one to several days long. They can be organized in Jaisalmer, Bikaner, Jodhpur, and shekhawati. Rates vary according to comfort level and facilities. Cheap rates could result in poorly trained camels, unsatisfactory facilities, and poor organization.

.Lonely Planet's publication, "Rajasthan" contains a complete section outlining what to expect and more importantly what to watch out for. Do not spoil a potentially fun and exciting experience by choosing the wrong safari organizer.
